Grade cricket, junior pathways and a clubhouse that's stood by the boundary rope for over 45 years. Bats up, ball red, doors open to anyone who wants in.
A club that takes cricket seriously without losing what makes Saturday afternoons worth showing up for.
Heatherton Cricket Club was founded in 1879 as the Heatherton Freighters, making it one of the oldest cricket clubs in Melbourne. We now compete in Cricket Southern Bayside, Cricket Victoria's premier community competition, and play out of our clubrooms on Ross Street, Heatherton, beside Capital Golf Course.
Our motto, Facile Princeps — "easily the best" — has followed the club through generations of players. Whether you're chasing a premiership, want your kids to learn the game properly, or just fancy a Saturday afternoon with good people and a cold drink after, there's a spot for you here.

Tucked beside the pitch at Ross Street, our function room opens onto a view most function centres can only fake with a mural — open green outfield, the pavilion's timber lines, and, on a good evening, a sky that turns the whole space gold at last light. It's a room that's hosted premiership presentations and christenings with equal ease: warm, unpretentious, and big enough to hold a crowd without ever feeling like a hall.
Whether you're planning a birthday, an engagement, a corporate end-of-year, or a wake that needs somewhere dignified and quiet, the space flexes to fit — long banquet tables for a sit-down dinner, or cleared floor for something looser. Licensed bar on site, ample parking, and a committee that actually picks up the phone.
